I'm ready for the wind. When the stars touch the trees again. Wind and rain and snow and cold. Where gas stations close at 9 p.m. and the next 40 miles will be empty. Empty of cars but filled with thoughts and jokes and smiles and friends. The type of thoughts that really don't matter one bit tomorrow but today they seem so desperate. They scream and come running from our thoughts desperate to be heard and understood. It's these thoughts on an empty highway that make life interesting. It's these thoughts that happen once summer is finally gone.
