As an inhabitant of the Southern hemisphere, it is not the end of summer I am celebrating, but the end of winter.

I revel in the return of the swallows, the floral perfumes colouring the evening atmosphere, the earlier dawns and later dusks, and most of all, the welcome blossoming open of the warmer temperatures.

Yet, because I am also an inhabitant of the world wide web, I am aware that summer is ending up North, cooler weather bringing the changing of the leaves.

Through this worldwide citizenship I carry both hemispheres in my blood, and therefore, strangely, both seasons.
