I looked up from spring, blinked, and now I'm wondering where the hell this summer went. I'm spending the last two weeks of this non-existent summer in Norfolk - on business, on a Navy base, most of it in a secured room that doesn't even see daylight. Last I knew, I was out in Arizona in the pre-Memorial Day heat, visiting Grandma after Grandpa died. I don't remember much of anything about June, but I know July was an absolute sauna that we barely survived without air conditioning in the house. Grandma just went into hospice. Summer is indeed over.
