A quote from Rod Steiger: “Success means controlling your own time. If you gain control over 60% of the time in your life, you are really successful." Does that 60% include sleeping? Sleep is 33%, a constant that I don’t view that as under my control. The numbers speak for themselves: currently, work and the unusable commute alone constitute nearly 30% of my time. For my last job in the city, however, work and the unusable commute was only 22% of my time. And when I worked from home 2 days a week, it was only 17%. Food for thought.
