I guess there’s something to be said for getting the more unpleasant tasks of the day out of the way first thing. I woke up early, had a cold bath and hot coffee, and went to have a mammogram. It’s a lengthy process, what with the disrobing and squashing and waiting and re-robing. While awaiting the verdict on my smush-o-gram, I stared at the door opposite the row of chairs until the sign on it made no sense. “Danger X-Rays”, it reads in two languages. If you look at it long enough, it becomes a jumble of meaningless letters.
