I have never been happier than when curled around you, my arm entwined in yours and my face buried in your corn silk hair. The sweet smell of you near me makes everything better. Sometimes if I hold you too closely on a warm night you say, “Mommy, stop sweating me” and I try to give you your space. But when we wake up in the morning, you’re right there, nestled against me.

I love you, and I will always see how beautiful and miraculous you are. Before I was your mother, I didn’t know part of me was unborn.
