When I look back on those childhood Christmases, it seems that we mostly went to our grandparentsí house, but we must have had some at home. I think about the big tree in the town square and peering at it through the glass of the elaborate, seldom-used front door. Thereís always snow in my memory; I donít remember a green Christmas. We did get a lot of snow in New York state, so that could be the case. I remember going to church for midnight service. I wish I could go back to that time, just for a little while.
