Sweet relief floods my heated veins following such a long dry spell. Though we've attempted to inject each and every aspect with gratitude, dreary days and pinched pockets have been the norm, with cancellations, obnoxious phone calls, and strain webbed between us.

Great joy stands before us, a pinprick of light that glows larger every day the weather cools, the funds come in, the insects die. As sweater weather and sanity approach, we forge new maps onto our skin and cross our fingers and toes for the best, flying on the magic carpet of hope, dipping and jerking towards fall.
