I have such strong memories of that period of my life. The prior two years were so nondescript, everything devoted to work and school, that the blossoming of an actual social life, doing things, going places, meeting people, was like suddenly living in Technicolor when I had been accustomed to black and white. It was so good to sit and laugh with her, rediscovering each other nearly twenty years on and being reminded of why we were such good friends. It seemed like there had been no time apart, even though she’s now an old married lady with two kids.
