My boss calls and says the SEC is going to audit us. My heart beats a little faster, though I know we have nothing to worry about. Weíve been in business for five years now, and I guess our number just came up. My boss says itís ďroutineĒ, but itís hard to think of something like an audit as being routine. Bernie Madoff got away with defrauding people for two decades or more, so possibly the SEC isnít the most efficient watchdog in the world. Maybe the auditors just want to be in San Francisco in the depths of winter.
