We went to the Holiday Boat Parade tonight, despite the cold, despite how comfortable we were in the house. We had an excellent view, but were a little disappointed in the turnout – there weren’t as many people as we expected, and surprisingly, no vendors selling hot chocolate or hot dogs to the people milling about in the cold. The parade is a charming yet slightly campy small-town tradition, and it was fun to watch the decorated boats motor up and down the river in the dark, playing music to the theme of their decorations - some even had live bands!
